Reflecting back to 1995… The love and confidence I had about fashion is still the same!
It’s amazing to feel the same joy shopping, or styling, or wardrobing today as I did when I started out as stylist.
When others express their enthusiasm for being transformed and refreshed in a coordinated look I still get goose-bumps!
Since, I have discovered that Wardrobing and Branding have a lot in common. What story do you want to tell?
Impressions and interpretations are created in the mind of the beholder, but what is more important is that you are confident in your message. Not everyone will match-up based on looks (personally or in business), aligning with people has more to do with connecting to people who have similar goals, intentions and vision.
I wear less suits these days and fashion opened huge doors for consulting and working aboard; I learned early on that a suit isn’t everything. Being self-aware of how to pull together great style and how to identify fashionable pieces however does have something to do with it.
Everywhere I look, people who are fashionable haven’t followed one trend (thankfully or we would all dress the same) they have followed their own.
What’s your message? What are your favourite pieces or accessories that conveys that message?
